Staffin Bay

Staffin Bay

Just before the northern tip of Skye is beautiful crofting village of Staffin with its sweeping Bay. It is a predominantly Gaelic-speaking settlement on Skye's Trotternish peninsula and is characterised by its 'spotty' houses. Several fossilized dinosaur footprints were discovered in 1996 in Staffin Bay.

Nearby is Kilt Rock, a cliff stratified with alternate vertical and horizontal bands, with its neighbouring high sea cliffs where the magnificent Mealt waterfall can be seen crashing to the sea.
