Mealt Waterfall

Mealt Waterfall

Kilt Rock are 200ft high cliffs located on the eastern coast of Skye in Scotland. They are composed of basalt columns which were formed into "pleats" reminiscent of a kilt during volcanic upheavals millions of years ago. The rock formations are said to rival those of Staffa and the Giant's Causeway in Ireland. The local Gaelic name for this rock is "Creag-na-Feile", literally, "The Rock of the Kilt".

It is over these sheer cliffs that Mealt Waterfall tumbles over to the pebbled shore below.
