Killiney Bay

Killiney Bay

Killiney is located in south Co. Dublin. In Irish its name is Cill Iníon L&eacuteinín which means the "church of the daughters of Leinin". The ruins of this church are still visible today. Killiney Hill Park was opened in 1887 in honour of Queen Victoria's 50 years on the throne. The park boasts magnificent views of Dublin Bay, Killiney Bay, Bray Head and the mountain of Great Sugar Loaf. The view stretches from the Wicklow Mountains right across to Howth Head. At the hill's highest point is an obelisk.
